Not that long ago, people were hesitant to reveal that they had had cosmetic procedures. Perhaps people did not want to appear vain, or maybe they wanted to uphold the illusion that Mother Nature had blessed them with eternal youth and unparalleled metabolism. For whatever the reason, it was a banned subject. Therefore, a tummy tuck might be referred to as some sort of necessary abdominal surgery. Face lifts and nose jobs were routinely denied. This cagey attitude is still often maintained by celebrities, and the cosmetic surgery histories of the stars are still common topics of conversation.
