The Truth about Acupuncture

By: Christian Goodman

Acupuncture is a part of ancient Chinese medicine. It?s a technique very similar to acupressure.

Fine thin needles are inserted in the skin to stimulate specific points called meridians which are believed to be energy paths to treat illness and provide general good health.

When someone becomes sick or is injured, the chi (pronounced either 'chee' or 'kie', like pie) gets blocked and positive energy is prevented for getting through.

Along the body's exterior surface, there are different points of acupuncture scattered all over, around 365 points. All these points follow 14 main meridian paths.

When these specially designed needles are put at certain locations on the meridians, the blocks are removed and enables the chi to now circulate freely. Continue reading

Build Muscle Fast With Exercise

By: Greg Knight

There are many wrong theories and notions regarding the methods to build muscle fast. One of them is the assumption that it is impossible for thin people to build muscle fast without using steroids. These days, many skinny people are incapable of putting on weight despite the large amount they eat.

Skinny people cannot always be blamed, however, since genes can have a lot to do with it. Genes can tell a body to use up lots more calories than others. But it is still possible under these conditions, to build muscle fast in a skinny person. The way most people would go about trying to gain weight is by consuming more food than is being burned up by the body. Even using this method, weight training should be incorporated in the plan in order to build muscle fast. The body will take in extra nutrients through weight training, and will increase levels of muscle mass and raise essential hormones.

Laughter Is The Best Medicine, But Why?

There's a myriad of reasons why we laugh and use humor in our lives. Humor goes back to the prehistoric days, or so they say. Since that was a few years before my time (but unfortunately not too many years before my time), I will have to take archaeologists word for this phenomena. I remember loving to laugh as a child. My mom was the joke cracker of our family until I came along and tried in all earnestness to out-perform her. She was a natural and it was impossible. But and making her laugh, was especially fun, as she was a perfectionist in the field of humor.Continue reading
